I was unable access any studies that compare life expectancy and quality of life for more capitalist or more socialist countries without taking into account levels of economic development. It seems, however, that capitalist countries, in general, have a greater level of economic development.

Norway is an interesting example because it is a social democratic state - there are high levels of taxation and controls on the operations of capital that Americans (for example), with their “free market capitalism,” would never tolerate.
