Subject: PROCOR: 8/28/00: URGENT: FCTC Deadline
WHO Public Hearings, Geneva; 12-13 October 2000
Dear colleagues,
I am sending this very quick reminder that WHO needs confirmation of your
organisation's 'intention to talk' by 31 August - ie in a few days time.
There have been very many submissions from the tobacco industry but
***PERILOUSLY FEW*** from public health/tobacco control NGOs. It is
particularly important to include economic arguments in favour of tobacco
control in some of the submissions.
Below is a form for submissions - please respond directly to WHO, not to me.
And PLEASE don't miss this opportunity. Many thanks.
Best wishes and thanks, Judith
