The City of Toronto Mayor's Advisory Committee on Seniors
(TMCA) is interested in "documenting the effect of
legislation changes (since the election of the liberal
government in Ottawa and the conservative government in
Ontario) on the physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental
health of seniors."

The legislative changes of interest involve cutbacks in
services, changing of eligibility requirements, and other
generally unprogressive (and not-very-nice) policies.

We are interested in two kinds of information.

1) information related to any effects that have actually
occurred to date to seniors in Toronto or Ontario -- these
could include stories, surveys, logged calls to seniors'
groups, etc.

2) information related to the effects of legislative changes
upon seniors in other localities than Toronto or Ontario.
For example, if medicare has been cut back in a particular
jurisdication, has there been effects on seniors?

The TMCA is a special committee of City Council. Its members
serve in a voluntary capacity to advise City Council on
issues related to seniors and their well-being. Virtually
all its members are seniors. TMCA welcomes contacts with
any agencies or organizations that have a special interest
in the well-being of seniors in Toronto.

Thank you,
