Position:Administrative Services Associate (Library and Information
Technician)

File #: 02-265

Role Level:     Administrative Services (AS III) - $16.60 - $19.00 per hour

Dept/Health System:     Health Information & Wellness Centre- Queensway Site

Hours Of Work/Shifts:3 days per week 10:00a.m.  -  4:30p.m.


Role Definition:
A self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational skills and
demonstrated commitment to customer service will excel in this position.
The successful candidate must possess the ability to work in a dynamic
environment with minimal direction.  Supporting the Centre, you will be
responsible for the coordination of daily activities in the Health
Information & Wellness Centre that will include:

                Acting as the key point of contact for all internal and
external stakeholders;
                Providing office administration services, including
correspondence preparation (minutes, reports and presentations);
                Independently resolving administrative support issues;
                Monitoring and directing incoming calls
                Acquiring print and non-print materials for consumer use
                Cataloguing and classifying materials
                Website design support and internet skills
                Assist consumers in searching and retrieving health
information

Key Qualifications:
                Diploma in Library and Information Technology from an
accredited school
                Familiarization of the Planetree Classification System
                Advanced knowledge of computer software applications (MS
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Meditech or other mainframe computer
system considered an asset;
                Superior interpersonal and communication skills both oral
and written;
                Strong organizational and effective time management skills;
                Ability to work co-operatively and effectively as part of a
team
                Self directed and accountable
                Ability to establish and meet competing priorities
