Hi Click4HPers,

Thought some of you may find this interesting.(Courtesy of Peggy
Edwards)
I am still not sure what "new survey" they are referring to below.
Have not read the article either.
The URL points to some form of relatively "soft" commercial site where
a synopsis of the article appears and where you can also purchase the
full article for a nominal fee.

Have a great summer!

Patients Rate Online Health Communities Superior To Physicians In Nine
Of
12 Aspects Of Healthcare

http://thunder.northernlight.com/cgi-bin/pdserv?cbrecid=GG19980429010013050&cb=0

A new survey suggests that members of online health information and
support groups for medical conditions rate their online communities as
significantly more helpful than either specialist or primary care
doctors
in nine of 12 aspects of healthcare.

Online information is obviously useful to consumers. On the other
hand, a recent study, indicated that only 50% thought that Internet
consumer/patient information seeking was useful in disease
management.
