As per your question....I think that the Community Tool Box out of the
University of Kansas might have something on developing mission
statetments for community based groups.
If people are not familiar with the Community Tool Box (CTB) it is an
excellent on-line resource (http://ctb.lsi.ukans.edu) for people working
with Community Groups, particularly working around health issues. The
CTB is chock full of "how-to-guides" for health-based community groups
covering a wide-wide range of topics. I have often found it an
excellent resource for things that I am looking for.
