I understood that only 7% of homeless people could be considered
schizophrenic.
And that the fastest-growing group of hostel users are youth under 18 and
families with children. Families were 46% of the people using Toronto
hostels in 1996.

Let's take a look at few more examples:
1. When you consider that some studies have found that about 30 % of all
the homeless suffer of a chronic (and severe) mental disorder (for most
part schizophrenia) and that they don't receive any treatment at all, it's
easy to imagine consequences...
