ALBERTA CENTRE FOR ACTIVE LIVING POSTING

Job title:  Research Assistant

Salary Range:  $1631 – $2057 per month

FTE:  0.6 – three days/week

The Research Assistant reports to the Director of the Alberta Centre for
Active Living, a provincial organization supported by the Alberta Sport,
Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation, and affiliated with the
University of Alberta’s Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation.  This
position is responsible for supporting research projects and initiatives
managed by the Research Associate, and guided by the Research Priority Areas
and Research Advisory Committee. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of
physical activity and active living literature and research. The ideal
candidate will have knowledge and experience with conducting research,
including data analysis (qualitative or quantitative), and expertise in
working with qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies. The Research
Assistant is part of the Alberta Centre for Active Living team, and
contributes directly to its work disseminating physical activity and active
living information to Alberta practitioners who promote health through
physical activity. This position is located at the University of Alberta in
the Centre’s research office.

This is a temporary trust position.

Requirements:
·       Masters degree in physical activity or related area (e.g. Health
Promotion)
·       Experience in a research environment
·       Experience in conducting literature searches
·       Medium to high proficiency with MS Office; proficiency with ProCite and
SPSS
·       Experience in multi-tasking.
·       Excellent communication skills
·       Experience working in a team environment
