For: This full day workshop is designed for service providers who work with young children, with parents of young children, or who have the opportunity to influence the health and development of young children. 
Workshop Description: This workshop will highlight current theory and research about resilience and what this means for practitioners. Examples of current initiatives and programs will be presented as well as strategies that participants can use to promote resilience in children around them.
SPEAKER: Darlene Kordich Hall, RN, PhD. is a researcher, clinician and educator focusing on children and families at risk. For more than 30 years she has developed and evaluated early intervention programs. Darlene is currently the Coordinator and a Co-Principal Investigator for Reaching IN...Reaching OUT, an evidence-based resiliency promotion program for young children. She was a member of the provincial evaluation team for Ontario's Healthy Babies - Healthy Children program and was director of the Parenting Program, a community mental health program for children at risk and their caregivers. She is published in the areas of child abuse, trauma and resilience and is a recognized trainer in these areas.
