FIELD DIRECTOR IN CAMBODIA Position Available - CCDP

The Cambodia Canada Development Program (CCDP), a coalition of Canadian
non-governmental organizations (NGOs) funded by CIDA, is currently
seeking to fill the position of Field Director in Cambodia.
The Field Director has overall responsibility for the CCDP Field Office
in Phnom Penh. Reporting to the Board of Directors and Executive
Committee in Montreal, the Field Director’s major tasks include
representation, the coordination of development projects and management.
Potential candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:
minimum of three years experience in the management or coordination of
an NGO program in a developing country, preferably in Asia;
administrative and communication skills;
tact and diplomacy;
strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team setting;
fluency in French and English; knowledge of Khmer language will be an
asset;
computer literacy.
The contract is for three years starting from April 1, 1997. The annual
salary is $45,000. The benefit package includes four weeks of vacation,
housing allowance, storage of personal effects, and health and life
insurance.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in a two-week
Design mission to Cambodia in mid-February 1997. Qualified candidates

Le Programme de developpement Cambodge-Canada (PDCC), coalition
d’organisations non gouvernementales (ONG) candiennes financee par
l’ACDI, est actuellement a la recherche d’une personne pour le poste de
Directeur/Directrice au Cambodge.
Relevant du conseil d’administration et du comite executif, le titulaire
du poste dont les principales taches se rapporteront a la
representation, la coordination de projets et la gestion, agira en tant
que responsable du Bureau du PDCC a Phnom Penh.
Tout(e) candidat(e) devra posseder un minimum de:
trois ans d’experience dans un poste de direction ou de coordination
d’un programme de developpement d’une ONG, et en l’occurrence, dans un
pays en voie de developpement, de preference en Asie;
des competences en administration et en communication;
preuve de tact et de diplomatie;
aptitudes pour le travail en equipe;
parfaite maitrise des deux langues officielles et de la
bureaucratique;
connaissance de la langue khmere sera consideree comme un atout.
La duree du contrat sera de trois ans et l’entree en fonction est prevue
pour le 1er avril 1997. Le salaire annuel est de 45 000$. Le PDCC offre
une gamme complete d’avantage sociaux qui inclue quatre semaines de
vacances, une indemnite de logement, l’entreposage, l’assurance maladie
et l’assurance vie.

Senior Program Officer/Senior Program Specialist, Ecosystem Health
Position Available - IDRC
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The International Development Research Centre (IDRC)is seeking qualified
candidates for the position of Senior Program Officer/Senior Program
Specialist, Ecosystem Health for the Ottawa Head Office.
The incumbent will join the Ecosystem Health Program Initiative team,
and will develop, monitor and administer a portfolio of projects that
encompass the dynamic relationships among the natural environment, human
health and the rage of socioeconomic, cultural and political conditions
of communities, with emphasis on how these interactions influence human
health and well-being.
The minimum requirements are:
a doctorate degree in a relevant health science discipline: Tropical
Diseases, Health Ecology, Epidemiology or Environmental Health;
a strong research and field background(5-10 years)in the area of
expertise of developing countries, as relevant to human health. The
emphasis in this position is on applied field research on Ecosystems
Health interdisciplinary approaches;
advanced epidemiological training;
experience in collaborative research and institutional networking;
experience in teamwork;
a working knowledge of a modern information and communication
technology;
a capacity to work in both French and English;
knowledge of Spanish would be an asset.
Salary commensurate with experience.
