Do you want to make your mark on the World Wide Web and make a difference in
your community?  The Ontario Public Health Association has an immediate
opening for an energetic self-starter to provide technical and
administrative support to the Alcohol Education Project. The successful
candidate will work closely with Alcohol Policy Network Manager and project
partners to implement the project.  Areas of responsibility include:

1) content development for APOLNET web site and two new searchable online
databases (35%)
2) web site maintenance and promotion, including coding and posting
documents, updating links and responding to site-generated inquiries (40%)
3) promotion and facilitation of new alcohol education listserv, including
developing rules and guidelines for user participation, acting as online
moderator and editing online archive (5%); and
4) general project administration, including editing a quarterly newsletter,
updating publications and databases, coordinating periodic meetings and
responding to requests for information, product orders, etc in a timely and
organized fashion. (20%)

We are looking for an individual who is organized, able to meet deadlines
and works well independently and as part of a team.  The successful
candidate will have experience with current Web authoring languages, tools,
technologies; a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Winfax,
presentation and desktop publishing software; and excellent
writing, editing and research skills, particularly using the Internet as a
tool.  Experience working with community groups and familiarity with alcohol
and other drugs issues and marketing and communications principles are
definite assets.

This is a full-time, one-year contract position, renewable depending on
