The community-based research literature has a great deal to say about
community mobilization and partnerships in health research.  check out
www.loka.org or Detroit Community-Academic Urban Research Center (URC),
www.sph.umich.edu/urc/ .  You may also find it helpful to search out some of
Barbara Israel's papers on partnership initiatives in health research.
