Established in 1989, the Elmira College =E2=80=9CInternational State of Mar=
k Twain
Studies=E2=80=9D conference is the oldest and largest academic gathering de=
voted to
all things Twain.  The 8th quadrennial conference, centered around the
theme, =E2=80=9CThe Assault of Laughter,=E2=80=9D will take place 3-6 Augus=
t 2017.  We

Developed abstracts (700 words) should be sent as an electronic attachment
to *[log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]>* by Monday 6 February
2017. Include a cover letter containing your contact information (name,
mailing address, etc.) in the body of the email.  Final papers must be
suitable for 20-minute presentation.  Proposals will be reviewed
anonymously by members of the conference planning committee.
