Dear Health Promoters,
I coordinate a course in the Faculty of Pharmacy at University of Toronto
in which I am trying to introduce the concepts of determinants of health in
various contexts, one of which is chronic illness.
Last year I was able to bring out some of the issues of addictions as a
coping mechanism to debilitating illness (like rheumatoid arthritis), and
would like to do something similar this year (not necessarily addictions,
but some issue that might dramatize social determinants in a chronic
illness context. )
Is there anyone in the Toronto area who can speak from close personal or
clinical experience to a class of 130 very bright, engaged students?
The class is scheduled for November 26th from 2 to 4 pm.
Please get back to me if you have any leads (or other good ideas)
thanks
David
