OVERVIEW

The conference will bring together prominent experts from academic
medicine, nursing research, health policy, ethics and managed care. They
will explore what options are available to maintain the continued health of
the clinical research enterprise in this country given the dramatic changes
in the health care marketplace. The morning session will address managed
care and the scientific innovation process, while the afternoon session
will explore private sector incentives in support of clinical research as
an indicator of quality health care.

LOGISTICS
Admission to the conference is free and on a first-come, first-served
basis.  Metrorail rapid transit serves the NIH campus via the Medical
Center station on the Red Line. Masur Auditorium is  within walking
distance from the Medical Center station.

PLEASE NOTE: Visitor parking on the NIH campus is extremely limited and is
restricted to 3 hours. You are strongly encouraged to take public
transportation. If you must drive, there are a limited number of visitor
spaces available in lot 41B at the south end of the NIH campus. Please plan
accordingly.
