Hi Irv,
Liz requested a definition from you interms of what you mean by
the concept "learning community".
I suggest you get in touch with the Healthy Communitiy Networks
in BC, MB, ON or QC...they have some exciting concrete examples
of "learning communities" by my definition, including:
- taking a critical look at what's needed
- self-empowerwing themselves around issues
of importance
- capacity building
- taking action
- etc.
They could probably give you contact names and numbers
for their communities showing the most interest in
developing a learning model.
Just an idea. If interested, point your browser to:
For BC........ http://www.bchealthycommunities.com/
For Ontario... http://www.opc.on.ca/ohcc/
Quebec, Manitoba, New Brunswick and the Canadian site coming soon...
Regards,
JM
