has a reference and resource list in it.

We also have a short publication on capacity building in health promotion.
This tip-sheet has been developed as part of our capacity-building project.
Based on literature reviews, consultation and focus groups with other health
promotion resource centres, this resource helps clarify the meaning of
capacity building for health promotion and includes examples. it is

At the Canadian Public Health Assoc. conference in Calgary this year, there
were several excellent presentations on "partnerships", including one that
Cathie Scott referred to in her message. Another one was by Monique Stewart
of the City of Ottawa Public Health Branch on "Learning to Trust: A
Partnership Among Partners", and Penny Lightfoot of [Edmonton] Capital
Health's "Partnerships: The Gives and the Gets". Possibly those papers could
be acquired from the authors.

Two key concepts of our work in recent years are capacity building and
partnerships.  There's been a lot of research done on capacity building, and
some great reviews of the literature on what constitutes capacity, how to
measure it, etc.

What I'm less familiar with is research on partnerships. Are any of you
aware of comprehensive literature reviews about partnerships and how they
exert their influence?  The one piece that comes to mind is the work on
Intersectoral Action Towards Population Health produced by Health Canada.
It's a good resource but not a review of the literature.

If any of you have done such a literature review, or can recommend a good
one, I'd really appreciate it.
