Career Opportunity

Position:  Manager, Health Promotion
Status:  Temporary, Full-Time (6 months)
Department:  T-SRCC

Basic Function:

1.  Manage and coordinate health promotion and community oncology components
of a comprehensive cancer program, emphasizing a community-based,
collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.

2.  Implement and monitor strategic plan for health promotion and community
oncology activities.  Define objectives and strategies for each project,
including audiences to reach and appropriate mechanisms for reaching them.

3.  Hire, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate performance and activities of
Health Promotion staff.

4.  Liaise and network with community groups, agencies, health professionals
(including physicians), media, and the community at large to develop and
ensure a consistent, coordinated, and expanded approach to health promotion
and early detection (e.g. Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation, public health, senior and community centres).

Minimum Education:

Master level preparation in Health Promotion

Minimum Experience:

Three years related experience

Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Strong project management skills demonstrated through relevant work experience
Proven ability to anticipate needs, set priorites, and organize work-flow
Proficient computer skills
