Alison posted the information about the European "Who's who in Health
Promotion" project. Here are the categories of health promotion work that
were listed:

>> You should practice health promotion in at least one of the following
>> fields
>> :
>> - Information and communication
>> - Health education
>> - Training
>> - Programme planning and implementation
>> - Health systems and policies
>> - Health surveillance
>> - Health economics
>> - Health unit management
>> - Preservation of the environment
>>

Does anyone else find it interesting that evaluation, research, and quality
improvement are not on the list? Does this reflect a lack of value for
those roles in health promotion, or do you think the compilers assume that
research and evaluation would be done by people who also do something else
on that list? Would a Canadian directory also exclude these roles?

I'm interested in feedback on this!
