Notice of Service Interruption : On Friday Feb. 26, at 7:00am there will be a
2 hour
outage of the secondary DNS (Domain Name Server) server
draco.ccs.yorku.ca (IP address 130.63.237.99).
The DNS server is used by internet applications to convert host
names to network IP addresses.
Users who have correctly configured their computers with the
IP addresses of all three DNS servers will, in most cases, not notice
any change in network service levels.
Users who have configured their computers with 130.63.237.99
(draco.ccs.yorku.ca) as their primary and only DNS server
will likely suffer a complete outage on all internet applications.
CCS strongly suggests that York Main Campus users configure
their machines to use the following search sequence for the DNS
servers:
130.63.168.21 (deadtech.ccs.yorku.ca),
130.63.237.99 (draco.ccs.yorku.ca),
132.251.1.2 (ns2.admin.crestech.ca).
The DNS configuration for Glendon users should be:
130.63.152.14 (colossus.ccs.yorku.ca),
130.63.168.21 (deadtech.ccs.yorku.ca),
130.63.237.99 (draco.ccs.yorku.ca).
If your DNS search order is the same as the configurations above, you
should not be affected by this service outage.
Questions or concerns about this DNS server outage,
or about DNS services in general, should be directed
to the CCS Helpdesk in the Steacie Science Library Building,
(voice: 736-5800, email: [log in to unmask]).
