Hello all of you,

We have just been asked to produce a tool for assessing the impact of
policies on the health of children and youth, and would appreciate any
guidance or suggestions as we start out. The tool will be used initially
by policy makers in the departments of Health (Public Health, Mental
Health, Addictions), Education, Justice, Community Services, Sport and
Recreation, Housing, HRDC, in Western Nova Scotia, but should also be
useful for community organizations. It will be distributed nationally as
well.

We are aware of the gender equity lens for policy analysis, and a policy
analysis guide on aging. Has anyone done anything similar for children
and or youth? Are there any key principles or documents that should
guide the development of this this tool? We would appreciate all of your
suggestions or leads as we get started on this, and as always, will share
with you whatever we find, as well as the resulting instrument.

Please send your responses directly to me at the address below, and I
will summarize them before sending them on to the list.

Thanks for your help!
