Hi Nancy,

I'd be interested in seeing the communication tools and strategies you
mention in the following workshop invitation. Please give me a call or drop
around one of these days.

Peter

Subject: Free Ontario Workshops

Attention Ontario Leaders in the Field of Recreation!

Are you looking for practical ways to.....

- attract new participants to your programs/facilities?
- partner with other community organizations?
- promote the benefits of recreation and physical activity with ready-to-use
communication tools?
- network with your recreation peers?

Then, register today for one of the free workshops to be held this fall
across Ontario. They will be held in:

* North Bay on September 18

*       London on September 29

*       Ottawa on October 2

* Casselmann on October 3 (in French)

*       St. Catherine's on October 19

* Owen Sound on October 24

* North York on October 25

* Thunder Bay on October 28

* Port Hop on November 2

Two-thirds of Ontarians are not active enough to benefit their health. Many
people, both adults and children, know they should be more active, and some
have strong intentions to do so, but have difficulty getting around the
barriers.

Several tools and programs have been developed to assist recreation leaders
in reaching this lucrative market segment.

These workshops will:

* introduce these tools & provide practical, real examples from
recreation settings, and the actual materials recreation leaders can access,
usually at no cost, to encourage this large segment of the population to
visit your programs.

* place special emphasis on Canada's Guides to Physical Activity - for
adults, for older adults and the soon-to-be-released one for children and
youth; SummerActive and Walk This Way.

To register and get more information:
Visit the Active Ontario web site at www.activeontario.org
<http://www.activeontario.org> and click on "Recreation Workshops".
No Cost for workshops, but lunch will be on your own.

Workshops facilitated by Nancy Dubois and your regional Active Living
Community Action Project (ALCAP) Community Facilitator provided as part of
Active Ontario.
