"Income, Socioeconomic Status and Health:
Exploring the Relationships" edited by J Auerbach
and B Krimgold is now available online. Go to
www.npa1.org <http://www.npa1.org> . Its right there, under "new,"
with the cover art, a brief summary of the book
and order forms. (There is also info about multiple
copies, at a discount, for those who wish to use it
for coursework. Substantive questions should go to
[log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> ; questions about orders
availability
of the monograph could go to [log in to unmask]
<mailto:[log in to unmask]> .)

There was a nice piece on NPR this morning
about the book, and we had a good briefing
at the National Press Club yesterday. (Sally
Satel didnt show up to discuss our findings
but many from NIH, HHS, & the media did!)

We were asked about the monograph title,
and did note that we have received lots of
comments, even a dictionary definition of
"revolution" as 1. "coup d'etat" and 2. "radical"
and agreed that we do think revolutionary
thinking about national health & policy solutions!

We attempted to fill as many orders as possible
for the shorter, summary, "Improving Health: It Doesnt
Take a Revolution" and have sent over 7000
copies out, but have a backlog. If you have ordered
a copy and havent received one, you should soon
also be able to order that online, as well, even multiple
copies at a discount.

We are pleased that PAHO/WHO is translating it into
Spanish and Portuguese via the PAHO/WHO Equity
listserve.

Thank you for your interest in this work and the books.

In the early hours I read in the paper of epoch-making projects
On the part of pope and sovereigns, bankers and oil barons.
With my other eye I watch
The pot with the water for my tea
The way it clouds and starts to bubble and clears again
And overflowing the pot quenches the fire.
