The William T. Small, Jr. Keynote Lecture will be given by
Richard Moore, Co-Founder of the Southwest Network for
Environmental and Economic Justice and the Southwest
Organizing Project, and Founder and Director of the Bobby
Garcia Clinic in Albuquerque, NM.  More information:

Mr. Moore's presentation and the afternoon's Panel Discussion
will be carried live (and free) by satellite (C-band), thanks to a grant
from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services,
and by Internet (also free) (Register to downlink from the satellite

The goal of the conference is to explore the impact of social
and environmental factors on the health of minority populations
by presenting underlying conditions, examining innovative
strategies, and identifying priority areas for future research
and practice.

Workshops feature spokespersons on Latino health, rural health,
community activism, HIV-AIDS, aging and access issues among
minorities.  A panel on Public Health in the New Administration
concludes the conference.
