Hi Shazad I am, also interested in mental health. The milestones are there,
in Australia, with initiatives like "beyondblue.org.au" which looks at
depression, and the alcohol strategy which started in the early 90s. Drug
use has also been addressed, with a good eduation program for professionals
but as elswhere little suucess in addressing the consequenceds of drug use
and abuse. With regards to suicide, we have a high rate of youth suicide in
rurla areas but I thought other age ranges were similar to the rest of the
world (although I read some conflicting stats today). I am interested in
youth (18-25 ) suicide in particular, but it seesm that there is no known
effective way of promotin positive mental health (wiht the secondary gain of
decreasing suicide and suicidal behaviurs).
