Grace,
Have you seen a copy of The Ontario Nurses' Association's Summer 1996
edition of "Dialogue on Health Reform: A Vision for Saving Medicare"? It
puts forth a model for an Integrated Health Delivery System that has as its
goal, improving the health status of the population served, and therefore
health promotion is a basic component. In a section outlining "Who benefits
from an integrated delivery system?", outcomes for consumers include
"Increased emphasis on illness prevention, disease management, health
education, health promotion and alternative therapies -- to meet the unique
needs of each community." (p.18)
Let me know if you would like to get a copy.
