The Canadian Council on Social Development (CCSD) is one of Canada's most
authoritative voices promoting better social and economic security for all
Canadians. A national, self-supporting, non-profit organization, the CCSD's
main product is information and its main activity is research, focussing on
concerns such as income security, employment, poverty, child welfare,
pensions and government social policies.

A new report "The Progress of Canada's Children 2001" has been released
recently. A summary of the report is available on the CCSD website at:

http://www.ccsd.ca

Take some time to check out other areas on this website. Under 'What's New'
is information on the upcoming conference:
TENTH BIENNIAL CONFERENCE ON CANADIAN SOCIAL WELFARE POLICY
WEALTH, HEALTH AND WELFARE: TENSIONS AND PASSIONS
17-20 JUNE 2001
UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY, CALGARY, ALBERTA

The 'CCSD Internet Launchpad' gets you to an extensive list of links to
related areas such as government sites, social and community planning
councils, municipal sites, poverty resources etc.

This is a useful Canadian resource site.
