The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Regional Office for
the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO), is organizing
the International Conference on Disaster Mitigation in Health Care

The purpose of the Conference is to create awareness among
ministries of health, bilateral and multilateral funding

developing and adopting regional goals for improving hospital
safety by investing in disaster mitigation for hospitals in
developing countries.

Bring the world together through play
--------------------------------------
Here is a window of opportunity for your organization to make life
a little brighter for over 200 deaf orphans who life in Lai Thieu
village about 30 km outside of Saigon, Vietnam. Our plan is that we
would ship playground equipment, along with other donated toys, etc.
to Vietnam in January, 1996 with our staff and students assembling
the equipment when they arrive at Spring Break. Interestingly, the
current sales slogan of those involved in producing playground
equipment is `bring the world together through play'.

So, here is how you can help us put `action' to their slogan. We
need cash donations or cheque made out to Richmond Secondary School
of any amount to allow us to purchase an adventure playground.
We've set a short period to do our fund raising so that the
equipment can be purchased, assembled, disassembled and placed in
a container for Vietnam in the first week of January. Thus, we
would need to have your donations by December 1st. What great
timing for sending a Christmas message of hope and friendship to
the deaf children of the Thuan An orphanage.

Any inquiries please contact Ken Lorenz or Darlene Macklam,
Principal at:
