Friday, June 4th 1999
Faculty of nursing,
Laval University, Quebec City
Paul Comtois pavillion, local 3111
Banking on the presence of internationally well know people in the field of
Health Promotion, gathered in Quebec City for the annual board meeting of
the International Union for Health Promotion and Health Education (IUHPE),
you are invited to discover in this colloquium national, regional and local
health promoting activites from a variety of countries. The IUHPE is the
main global non-governmental organisation in the field, with over 2000
members in more than 90 countries.
Objectives
Ø Familiarize oneself with the health promotion situation at the
national, regional or local levels in a variety of countries.
Ø Exchange on the contribution of Health Promotion in the various
health reforms currently going on all over the world.
Ø Draw some lessons that can be identified out of these international
experiences for the practice of health promotion, especially in Canada.
Participants
This colloquium is aimed primarily at people planning or providing public
health services at the federal, provincial, regional or local levels in
Canada. It is also of interest for students in this domain, notably at the

of their incumbents and any other person working intersectorally with
health people to improve the quality of life of the population should also
be very interested by the colloquium.
Organizers
This colloquium is co-organized by the Quebec WHO Collaborating Center for
the Development of Healthy Cities and Towns (a joint venture between the
Laval University Faculty of Nursing and the Quebec Network of Healthy
Cities and Villages), Quebec's Ministry of Health and Social Services
