CALL FOR PAPERS

The 3 R’s of Sex: Relationships, Reproductive Health and Recreation –
6th ASPSH Biennial Western Canadian Conference on Sexual Health

April 28-30, 2004

Corbett Hall, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

The 6th Biennial Western Canadian Conference on Sexual Health will be
held on April 28-30, 2004 at Corbett Hall in University of Alberta,
Edmonton, Alberta. The conference next year is entitled The 3 R’s of
Sex: Relationships, Reproductive Health and Recreation. The objectives
of this conference are to provide an opportunity for those working in
the area of sexual health to create a forum to examine sexuality from a
variety of perspectives; to update and enhance their knowledge and
skills in sexual health education, counselling, and clinical services;
to network with others in order to share information, experience and
expertise. We are looking for papers that address health promotion,
physical and mental health, politics and policy, ethical and moral
issues, and social learning and experience in the realm of human
sexuality. Anticipated conference attendees include people with an
interest in sexuality such as educators, social workers, clergy,
physicians, correctional staff, childcare and youth workers, health care
professionals and support staff, and other individuals with an interest
in sexual health.

The Alberta Society for the Promotion of Sexual Health (ASPSH) is a
non-profit organization that was organized to meet the needs of
professionals, care givers and others who want knowledge and skills to
promote sexual health. ASPSH strives to promote optimal sexual and
reproductive health and well-being throughout the lifespan for all
through comprehensive sexuality education and services; public
education; the advocacy of choice in sexual and reproductive health
decisions; acquisition, utilization, and distribution of information and
resources; and through networking and support. The Conference provides
the ideal opportunity for professionals, students and others to build
skills and knowledge necessary to aid in sexual health education and
promotion within communities.
