In response to the debate about mobile phones I would like to say that I
agree with William B. Mbabazi's point of view that sooner rather than later
is the time to act. I also found the article on the link between smoking and
mobile phone use very interesting.
Smoking in fact is a very clear warning of what can happen if society waits
around for clearcut evidence of harm before discontinuing or limiting use of
a product. And like smoking some detrimental effects do not appear
immediately and the research and publication of the results of this research
(which are two separate but equally important steps) may very well be
manipulated, supressed, or not used due to corporate interests.
