Several times this May CLICK4HP will be a bit slow to respond. Last week the
power-supply on the mail Listserv machine went faulty and a new power supply
was flown in from Calgary. Mail was backlogged but nothing was lost.

Later this month there will be two upgrades of the system and there will be
times when the system is off-line. Mail will be backlogged for a bit, but none
will be lost.

Two system outages will be required. Due to the large volume of data
being stored on the servers, which must be transferred before and
after the disks are replaced, the outages will be lengthy. The first is
estimated to take four hours and the second about nineteen hours. Every
effort will be made to return services back to normal as soon as
possible after these data transfers.

The outages are scheduled for:    Thu May 9 from 5pm to 9pm  and
                        Fri May 17 from 5pm until noon Sat May 18

During those two periods, all central e-mail services will be unavailable.
Please note that any incoming mail to the University will be queued on
the mailrelay system during the two outages, to be delivered later when
normal operations resume. No incoming mail will be lost.
