Web Community Coordinator, Women's Health Matters,

Contract Position - 4 days a week to March 31, 2003

http://www.womenshealthmatters.ca and http://www.femmesensante.ca are
expanding. In November we will be launching an on-line community --
discussion groups, ask the expert forums, women's health stories and book
reviews -- on the Women's Health Matters and Femmes en Santé Web
Sites.

We are currently seeking an individual (preferably bilingual) to coordinate
and moderate our web discussion groups and on-line community. This is an
exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of women's health experts
to increase access to women's health information and to build an online
women's health community. Women's Health Matters/Femmes en Sante is a key
initiative of the Hospital's overall mission to be a leader in women's
health.

Reporting to the Director, Women's Health Partnerships, and as part of the
womenshealthmatters.ca/femmesensante.ca team, the Web Community Coordinator
* coordinates Web Community on-line activity,
* moderates selected forums on http://www.womenshealthmatters and
http://www.femmesensante.ca Web sites,
* builds and maintain relationships with discussion group moderators,
* maintains Club data; uploads surveys, information, e-cards and stories,
* conducts interviews for Women's Health Matters,
* responds to Women's Health Matters e-mail enquiries,
* maintains web site Resource Directory and selects monthly Resource picks,
* identifies and networks with community groups; liaises with outside
organizations, and
* keeps current on women's health issues.

Knowledge and Experience Required
* Knowledge, understanding and experience working with women's health issues
and providing information and support to women
* Experience in web based services
* Excellent communication and creative problem-solving and the ability to
work both independently and as an integral member of a team
* Experience with Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Desktop publishing, basic
technical knowledge of web-based applications
* Experience in a hospital or health care environment
* Self-starter; good public relations/customer service skills; tact,
diplomacy and maturity essential
* Ability to communicate in French and English preferred

Educational Requirements
* BA/BSc in health or social service discipline or BSN/BSW
* Three years or more experience in providing support to other women gained
on-line or in telephone/face-face counselling
