Further to the questions about walking clubs, I'd like to ask if any of the
coordinators are aware of policies, guidelines or statements that have been
adopted or created by the sites that host the walking clubs. For example a
mall, workplace or school or....where ever!
Please let me know ~ thanks,
Robin Holmes

The North Lambton Community Health Centre supports two volunteer
facilitated
walking clubs. The volunteers are trained in CPR and Senior Fitness from
the
Centre for Ageing in London. The one hour twice weekly program consists of
warm up stretches, walk indoors at your own pace and cool down exercises.
Stretches with Thermabands are part of the last fifteen minutes but most of
the participants prefer just walking. Because the two programs are 15
minutes by car away from each other and held on alternate days, eager
walkers have four days each week that they can walk in safety. This program
runs from Thanksgiving to April depending on the weather. There is no fee
for the participants. We have equal participation of males & females.
