Subject: Ethinicity and Risk of Diabetes Related Lower
Extremity Amputation
Dear Colleagues
A paper in the latest issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine which may be of
interest to some of you. The rates of amputation in the UK for Afro-Carribeans
are compared with those of European descent, and the results contrasted with
those observed in the US where amputation rates for African Americans are two to
three times higher than for whites.
