RFP: Health Promotion Consultant, FOCUS Resource Centre

Project: To determine the work required to develop a comprehensive
provincial health promotion / prevention framework to address the health
problems associated with alcohol and other drugs.

Closing Deadline: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 6, 2002.

The Community and Health Promotion Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Health
and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) has provided funds to the FOCUS Resource Centre
of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health to manage & coordinate a
project to determine the work required to develop a comprehensive provincial
health promotion / prevention framework to address the health problems
associated with alcohol and other drugs. This project, consisting of three
phases, will entail research, significant stakeholder consultation, and
conclude with the development of a framework. The project is to be completed
by May 31, 2002.

The consultant selected to undertake this work would be required to:
*       analyze and synthesize data from provincial, national and
international research literature, reports and programs with a "Best
Practice" focus;
*       conduct broad stakeholder consultations which would include, but not
be limited to,  representatives from substance abuse and injury prevention
groups, public health and addiction agencies, members of the Ontario Health
Promotion Resource System, MOHLTC and other ministries;
*       complete a final report outlining a provincial health
promotion/prevention framework for addressing alcohol and other drug issues.


The work will occur between Friday, March 1 and Friday, May 31, 2002.
