        Health Promotion Specialist - Tobacco & Youth

        Hamilton, Ontario, Canada is an award winning, model sustainable
community in Southern Ontario on lake Ontario with many amenities. We are
close to Toronto and the border to the United States. We currently have
opportunities in our Social and Public Health Services Department - a Public
Health Research, Education, and Development Unit affiliated with McMaster
University and the University of Guelph

        As part of a team of four tobacco specialists, a Health Promotion
Specialist is needed to plan, develop, implement and evaluate tobacco use
prevention programs. This position will encompass youth mobilization,
prevention and youth cessation strategies. You will also provide support to
schools, community groups, and health professionals in tobacco use
prevention activities.

        You have a Master's Degree in Health Science, Health Promotion or
related area, and a sound knowledge of tobacco prevention and behaviour
change theory. You show demonstrated competence in program planning,
implementation and evaluation, health promotion strategies, and community
mobilization. Your talent for written, verbal and mass media communication
rounds out your qualifications.

        We will also consider candidates with a baccalaureate degree in
health or applied sciences who have 2 years experience in the above and
strong research and analytical skills.
