Description: 
The Health Promotion Clearinghouse (HPC) is seeking a highly skilled team player to develop and implement an exciting new web-based project. The HPC is a provincial nonprofit resource system aimed at building capacity and support for health promotion work across Nova Scotia. The HPC Network is a one-year project aimed at expanding the networking capability of health promotion intermediaries[1] across Nova Scotia through the creation of an accessible and formalized on-line system for intra and inter-organizational information and knowledge sharing. He/she will report to the HPC Manager and to the HPC Network Working Group. 
 
Responsibilities:
The HPC Network Coordinator will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of the project. He/she will work in collaboration with the HPC Network Working Group toward the project's development, implementation, evaluation and sustainability. Duties include but are not limited to:

Stage I - HPC Network Pilot (Months 1-3)
ˇ          Refinement of the project design and methodology
ˇ          Developing and implementing a marketing, communications, and training strategy for the project
ˇ          Creating safe and secure online workspaces for Network users 
ˇ          Launching of the HPC Network Pilot Phase 
ˇ          Providing training and ongoing support to HPC Network users
ˇ          Monitoring HPC Network progress and utilization
ˇ          Conducting key informant/focus group interview toward the evaluation of the pilot
ˇ          Working with evaluator to assess outcomes and recommendations

Stage II - HPC Network Implementation and Evaluation (Months 4-12) 
ˇ          Establishing an HPC Network Working Group
ˇ          Modifying/revising HPC Network features and methodology based on Stage I outcomes
ˇ          Recruiting participants for the broad-based HPC Network
ˇ          Developing, implementing and evaluating a train-the-trainer model for the HPC Network
ˇ          Launching and monitoring of the expanded HPC Network
ˇ          Providing ongoing support to HPC Network users
ˇ          Promoting the use of the HPC Network
ˇ          Participating in the evaluation process for the project
ˇ          Preparing a revised train-the-trainer facilitation manual and final report 
 
Requirements:
ˇ          Degree in health, education or social sciences (Masters level preferred)
ˇ          Excellent presentation, facilitation, and training skills
ˇ          Strong communication skills (including PowerPoint, discussion forums, web logs, and related web-based exchange tools)
ˇ          Knowledge of community development and adult education principles, including train-the-trainer models
ˇ          Marketing and communications abilities
ˇ          Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
ˇ          Excellent organizational, problem solving, interpersonal and team-building skills
ˇ          Experience and comfort with information technology and learning new software
ˇ          Project development/coordination experience
ˇ          Experience in website maintenance is an asset
ˇ          Ability to meet deadlines and to work both independently and as a part of a team
ˇ          Awareness of health promotion activity in Nova Scotia
ˇ          Valid NS Drivers License. Access to a vehicle for travel throughout the province is preferred
 
Location:
The HPC Network Project will be housed at the Health Promotion Clearinghouse, City Centre Atlantic, Dresden Row, Halifax. There is the possibility of working online from home part of the time. 
 
Salary Range:
$36,400 to $40,040 per annum, based on qualifications and experience (35 hours/week).
