The Self-Help Resource Centre of Greater Toronto, the Ontario Self-Help Network and
the Centre for Health Promotion at the University of Toronto are jointly sponsoring a
Self-Help Research Networking Symposium to be held on October 24, 1997 at the
University of Toronto. The objectives of the symposium are to;
1. identify researchers involved in Self-Help/Mutual Aid research in Ontario and to
create an inventory of Self-Help Mutual Aid research in Ontario
2. share knowledge gleaned from Self-Help/Mutual Aid research in Ontario and create a
dissemination plan for the broader community.
3. work towards the development of a Self-Help/Mutual Aid research network for
Ontario.
For this purpose, we are interested in research and evaluation emanating from both
academic and community sources. The day will include presentations by all
participants, networking opportunities and initial discussion about the goals and
objectives of a provincial self-help research network.
