A presentation/discussion of interest to CLICK4HPers in the Ottawa area:

THE PEOPLE'S HEALTH ASSEMBLY:
A GRASSROOTS RESPONSE TO THE GLOBAL HEALTH CRISIS

Come to a presentation on:
Tuesday, Sept. 26, 7:00 p.m.
Sandy Hill Community Health Centre
221 Nelson Street
Ottawa

Despite significant advances in the field of medicine, the health status of many people around the world is getting worse. Why? Some factors include:
- increasing poverty in our societies
- health services under threat of privatisation
- too much attention devoted to technology; not enough to communities and primary health care

We are seeing these issues in Canada as Medicare is threatened, but the issues are global. Come and learn how we can work together with others from around the world to address them through the People's Health Assembly.

Speaker: Maria Hamlin Zuniga
Director of CISAS (a Nicaraguan NGO working in Health Education and Development)
