Announcement of new national collaborating centre for public health / Annonce d'un nouveau centre de collaboration nationale en sante publique
ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW NATIONAL COLLABORATING CENTRE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH
On May 17, 2007, the Federal Government announced the establishment of the National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools (NCCMT). The NCCMT is one of the six National Collaborating Centres funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada to support evidence-informed public health practice.
The NCCMT is hosted by McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. The Centre will fill a much-needed role in Canada by providing easy access to knowledge synthesis, translation and exchange (KSTE) methods and tools for use by public health practitioners and policy makers.
In order to respond effectively to the evidence needs of public health practitioners and policy makers, the NCCMT will be establishing networks and partnerships with individuals and groups across Canada. Their advice and input will be essential.

ANNONCE D'UN NOUVEAU CENTRE DE COLLABORATION NATIONALE EN SANTÉ PUBLIQUE
Le 17 mai 2007, le gouvernement fédéral a annoncé la création du Centre de collaboration nationale des méthodes et outils (CCNMO). Le CCNMO est l'un des six centres de collaboration nationale financés par l'Agence de santé publique du Canada et dont la mission consiste à soutenir la pratique en santé publique à l'aide des résultats de la recherche et de l'expérience.
Le CCNMO est parrainé par la l'Université MacMaster, Hamilton, Ontario. Le Centre remplira une fonction importante au Canada en facilitant l'accès aux synthèses des connaissances accumulées, et en transposant et en échangeant des méthodes et des outils au profit de la pratique en santé publique.
Le CCNMO répondra efficacement aux besoins de données probantes des praticiens et des décideurs politiques dans le domaine de la santé publique. Il atteindra cet objectif par la création de réseaux et de partenariats formés de personnes et de groupes à la grandeur du pays. Ses rétroactions et ses conseils seront essentiels au secteur de la pratique et des politiques en santé publique.
