At a recent Public Health Association conference in the UK there was a
paper reporting on a systematic review undertaken of the Satges of change
model and its effectiveness. The bottom line being that the evidence base as
to effectiveness is quite small and even none existent. the discussion in
the session revolved around how there is tendency to apply such models
rigidly rather than using them as guidance as a possible approach . I
suggest you contact Rob Riemsma at the NHS Centre for Review and
Dissemination genesis 6 University Road Heslington, York UK YO10 5DQ for a
copy of the paper.
