For those who are interested in the latest developments in FAS research --

Today (April 1st) the Motherisk Program launched the first scientific
journal dedicated to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. The Journal of FAS
International will publish peer reviewed original papers, as well as case
reports, reviews and critical reports on papers published in other
publications. This first issue of JFAS Int features an original paper by
the French pediatrician, Dr. Paul Lemoine who described the syndrome in
1967. The 84 year-old pediatrician from Nantes was very excited to share
his experience in identifying alcohol as the cause of numerous disabilities
among his young patients more than 50 years ago. His paper has been
translated into English, but also appears in its original French.
