Dear Lt. Governor:

Thank you for your comments about Ontario society that were
published in the December 9 Globe and Mail. As a community
health professor doing research in Toronto communities, I
can assure you that children and women are indeed suffering
the brunt of the effects of this mean-spirited and
reactionary provincial government.

Ontario has been blessed with traditions of peace, order,
and good government. Sadly, these are just becoming faint
memories under the present government.

I hope you will consider receiving copies of our
community reports that describe the quality of life
in two Toronto communities: Riverdale and Lawrence
Heights. These will be released in January.

Sincerely,

Dennis Raphael
Professor of Public Health Sciences
University of Toronto
