Subject: Report: Tackling Social Inequalities in Health The
           Role of Health Promotion

Dear Colleagues

Can i draw your attention to the following resources.

The Flemish Institute for Health Promotion (VIG) coordinated a two year research
project in collaboration with the European Network of Health Promotion Agencies
(ENHPA) with the participation of 13 EU countries and Norway. The aim of the
project was to identify policies and practices across the EU that tackles
inequalities in health and to produce recommendations for policymakers.
The research report and executive summary can both be downloaded by going to
http://www.eurohealthnet.org/EuroHealthNet/ and selecting option "Tackling
Inequalities in Health"
In addition following the production of the report an expert group identified 8
key recommendations from the original 42 in the report. These are also
available, as is information from a high level round table conference held in
Brussels last December to discuss inequalities in health.
The final conference report is available at
http://www.eurohealthnet.org/Eurohealthnet/Ressources/roundtablereport.pdf
Best wishes
David McDaid
