INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT WEEK IN FULL SWING
This week is International Development Week, a time for celebrating
those Canadians who are making a difference in the world. International
Development Week (IDW) is held each year during the first week of
February. This year, the Canadian International Development Agency
(CIDA) is paying special attention to the involvement of Canadian youth
in international cooperation. CIDA is also highlighting the work
Canadians do to improve the lives of children and women, especially in
Africa. For more information, including a calendar of events, visit the
CIDA website: http://www.acdi-cida.gc.ca/idw.

SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AWARENESS DAY: FEBRUARY 12, 2003!
Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Awareness Day is February 12, 2003!
SRH Day is a new annual health promotion event that will focus national
attention on the importance of sexual health issues. The goals of this
event are to promote awareness of SRH issues and to raise the profile of
community-based SRH organizations across the country. Sexual and
reproductive health is a key part of an individual’s overall health and
well-being. Yet Canadians continue to lack access to accurate,
non-judgmental SRH information and services. An SRH Day Resource Kit is
available to download on the Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada
website (http://www.ppfc.ca, click on the SRH Day logo). This resource
kit contains fact sheets, a press release, event ideas and an article
which can be used in agency newsletters. There will also be promotional
materials available, including a poster, stickers and a temporary
tattoo. For more information, or to order some promotional materials
for the day, contact Kelli Dilworth at 613-241-4474, ext. 242 or by
email at [log in to unmask]
