14th February 2000  -  Issue  36

HPiC Website News aims to keep readers up to date with recently launched
internet websites in the field of health promotion. The newsletter contains
health information and campaign sites, sites of relevant organisations, and
sites which are recommended as good examples of design for the internet. 


Care and Carers

The Department of Health "Carers" website aims to fulfil the Government's
commitment to providing on the Internet details of the services or benefits
affecting carers. The site contains facts and figures and definitions about
Carers, and links to related web-sites. 


Coronary Heart Disease

The Heart Health Promotion website is sponsored by the Department of Health.
It provides information relating to heart health, aimed at young people.
Contents include information around coronary heart disease, issues around
black and minority ethnic groups, nutrition and alcohol, smoking, exercise
and substance misuse. There is also a "heart rap" which shows a video of an
interview with a young footballer on heart health issues.

initiative which aims to bring social science and economics expertise to

environmental stresses, and how environmental knowledge relates to these
actions.

The National Institute for Social Work have been funded to take forward the
initial development of an electronic Library for Social Care (eLSC). The

currently contains four "floors"; the knowledge floor, the knowledge bases
floor, the knowledge skills floor, and the users and carers floor.
