Statistics Canada just released a new study on Trends in mortality by
neighbourhood income in urban Canada from 1971 to 1996, which examines the
impact of income on mortality and life expectancy over a 25-year period
and trends by specific causes of death. The analysis is based on data from
the Canadian Mortality Database and population censuses for 1971, 1986,
 1991 and 1996.
