We wish to inform the community that as of Monday, May 21, CNS will lock
all Webpost user accounts. This will affect users who maintain websites
that begin with any of the following URLs:
http://www.yorku.ca/admin/...
http://www.yorku.ca/org/...
http://www.yorku.ca/courses/...
http://www.yorku.ca/college/...
http://www.yorku.ca/faculty/...
http://www.yorku.ca/academics/...
http://www.yorku.ca/dept/...
http://www.yorku.ca/research/...
After May 21, Webpost users will not be able to update their accounts,
but their web pages will continue to be served for 4 weeks until June
18th.
Most Webpost users have already migrated their web files to the
Central Web Service over the past 18 months. A few dozen old accounts
still remain, however. If you still use Webpost, you can migrate your
files to the Central Web Service. Student Clubs, York Organizations
and Departments can request a Central Web Account by contacting
[log in to unmask] Faculty members can activate their own Central Web
Account using Maya ( http://maya.yorku.ca/maya/maya ) or by contacting
[log in to unmask] CNS provides detailed instructions on how to post
files on the Central Web Service here:
http://www.cns.yorku.ca/computing/webdev/index.html
On June 18th, CNS will decommission both the Webpost and Foxglove
servers. At that time, all remaining Webpost content will be archived
and the legacy web service will be turned off.
