Based in Seattle, Washington, Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH) oversees a network of over 1000 community groups and campuses in the United States. CCPH’s mission is to promote health through service-learning, community-based research, community service and other partnership strategies.
CCPH has recently been funded by the Kellogg Foundation, to convene a Commission on Community-Engaged Scholarship in the Health Professions with the goal of creating a supportive culture and reward system for health professional faculty involved in community-based participatory research, service-learning and other forms of "community-engaged scholarship." We invite you to attend an interactive discussion on challenges, opportunities and possibilities for community-engaged scholars and the institutions that support them.
Presenters:
Sarena D. Seifer, MD, Executive Director, CCPH
Dr. Seifer’s research focuses on the principles and best practices of partnerships between communities and academic institutions in relation to education, research, and community/economic development.
Elmer R. Freeman, MSW, PhD (c) Chair-Elect, Board of Directors, CCPH
Mr. Freeman is Executive Director of the Center for Community Health Education Research & Service, Inc. in Boston and an Adjunct Professor at Northeastern University.
